MANAGING DIRECTOR – Serge ATIKOSSIE
Serge ATIKOSSIE is the Managing Director of BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA, with over 15 years of experience in financial management, risk, and operations. He holds an MBA in Auditing and Financial Planning and has completed advanced executive programs at HEC Paris, HEC Montréal, and the Frankfurt School of Finance, specializing in corporate finance, risk management, digital finance, and sustainable bonds.
Having joined the BANK OF AFRICA Group in 2013, Serge has held senior leadership roles in Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Executive Management. In Rwanda, he drives strategic growth, financial performance, digital transformation, and sustainable innovation to strengthen the Bank’s market position.
EXECUTIVE HEAD OF SUPPORT SERVICES – Olivier ABALO ABIYI
Olivier ABALO ABIYI is the Executive Head of Support Services at BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA, bringing over 16 years of professional experience, including more than 13 years in the financial services sector within the BOA Group and across African markets.
He oversees Administration, Operations, Procurement, IT, Physical Security, Organization, and Service Excellence, playing a key role in operational efficiency and digital transformation. Olivier holds an Executive MBA, a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Business Intelligence, and professional certifications in Project Management and Agile methodologies.
EXECUTIVE HEAD OF BUSINESS – Jean HAVUGIMANA
Jean HAVUGIMANA is the Executive Head of Business at BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA, with over 20 years of experience across Retail, SME, Corporate, and Digital Banking within the Rwandan financial sector.
He brings strong expertise in business development, portfolio growth, credit risk assessment, digital channel optimization, and customer relationship management. Jean holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance and is recognized for driving sustainable business growth aligned with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
EXECUTIVE HEAD OF CREDIT & CONTROL – Alice UWINEZA
Alice UWINEZA is the Executive Head of Credit at BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA, with over seven years in the role. She oversees credit approvals, portfolio monitoring, and the continuous enhancement of the Bank’s credit policies and procedures to ensure sound risk management and regulatory compliance.
With more than 17 years of banking experience, she brings strong expertise in credit risk management and corporate banking. Alice holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Development Studies and a Master’s degree in Banking (ITB), and has completed several professional trainings in financial services.
EXECUTIVE HEAD OF LEGAL & COMPANY SECRETARY – Ephraim MUVALA
Ephraim MUVALA has served as Executive Head of Legal Services & Company Secretary at BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA since 2013. He ensures the Bank’s compliance with corporate governance standards and regulatory frameworks while advising the Board and Management on legal matters.
He holds a Master of Science in Arts, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the National University of Rwanda, with extensive experience in banking and corporate law.
EXECUTIVE HEAD OF RISK – Ubald SESONGA
Ubald SESONGA is the Executive Head of Risk and a member of the Executive Committee at BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA. He leads the Bank’s risk management, compliance, and AML/CFT frameworks, and oversees loan portfolio monitoring and regulatory reporting.
With over 17 years of experience in the financial sector, including 12 years in risk and compliance, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Compliance Professional and Certified AML Specialist (CAMS).
EXECUTIVE HEAD OF FINANCE – Theogene RUZINDANA
Theogene RUZINDANA is the Executive Head of Finance at BANK OF AFRICA – RWANDA, with over eight years in the role. He oversees financial reporting, budgeting, tax management, and financial policy development to ensure strong financial governance.
With more than 20 years of experience in finance and operations, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Sciences, is a Certified Public Finance Management Accountant (CPFMA), and is currently pursuing the CPA qualification.
